Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has topped the charts in the finals of the 45th International Collegiate Programming Contest held in Dhaka, with a total score of 10. Peking University from Beijing, China, ranked 2nd with a total score of 9.
Among 137 teams of university students from 69 countries, BUET ranked 40th overall in the world.
The University of Tokyo from Tokyo, Japan and the University of Warsaw from Warsaw, Poland, ranked 3rd and 4th respectively with a score of 8 each.
Last year’s gold medal winners, Seoul National University of South Korea, tackled one of the first questions in the competition. They ranked 5th with a score of 8 as well.
The rankings of other Bangladeshi universities in the 45th ICPC are as follows:
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology – 52nd, University of Dhaka – 82nd, Jahangirnagar University – 88th, North South University – 94th, American International University – Bangladesh – 102nd, University of Asia Pacific – 114th and Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology – 121nd.
A total of 8 teams from Bangladesh competed in this year’s ICPC.
